The analytical equipment of the CAWS has been funded though CFI and CAIP grants. A strong focus of the equipment is the ability to carry out in-situ measurements of green house gas fluxes and dissolved organic matter. Major field portable equipment includes:
2x Spectro::lysers for continuous monitoring of UV-vis absorbance
LGR Ultraportable greenhouse gas analyzer for simultaneous CO2 and CH4 monitoring.
We further have a dedicated laboraory at University of Alberta. Major analytical instruments include:
SRI Greenhouse gas monitoring GC
Shimadzu TOC/TN analyzer with autosampler
Picarro G2201-i Analyzer for 13C measurements of both CO2 and CH4
